ABOUT TRABZON 2011

The 2011 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) took place in Trabzon, Türkiye, from July 23 to July 29. This marked the first time the festival was held in Türkiye, with over 3,000 young athletes from 49 European NOCs participating. The event featured nine sports: athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, and volleyball. Over 100 events took place across various venues, many of which were newly built or renovated for the festival, including the Hayri Gür Arena and Söğütlü Athletics Stadium. This festival was a key opportunity for young athletes to gain international experience while competing in an Olympic-style environment.
